I have over 13+ years of extensive international and emerging markets experience within the angel investment, venture capital, private equity and banking sectors.
I’m am actively involved in helping SME’s familiarize themselves with angel and venture capital investment opportunities across continents and in the emerging markets. I continue to operate a boutique consultancy called Icon Angels, a US based firm specializing in helping small businesses navigate the various business, due diligence and technical requirements of investors.
In addition to working with SME’s and the angel investment communities, I was actively involved as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with an Istanbul based private equity firm called Stars of Europe Private Equity Fund. As the COO, I was responsible for vendor relations, fund operations, investor reporting, deal sourcing, due dillegence and is also a part of the investment committee, which overseas investment decisions into portfolio companies.
Before my venture into the alternative investment sector, I was the Manager of Product Strategy for the Small Business Banking & Private Wealth Management Group at CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce), Sr. Management Consultant for Icon Medialab, and Sr. Project Manager at AnswerThink Consulting Group and at Genex. I provided strategic consulting, project management, and business development services for numerous Global 1000 companies such as Siemens, VISA, Allianz Insurance, Cisco Systems, and Providian Bank based in San Francisco, Toronto, Hamburg, Munich, and Los Angeles.
I received his MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco - McLaren School of Business in 1998 and also hold a double major in Economics & Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.
